The Big Swim 2026

The Big Swim, Brighton

Last Saturday, we sponsored our first-ever event. The Big Swim. The event brought hundreds of women together to celebrate the power of community, confidence, and care for our oceans.

How it started

This one actually started in our Brighton store.

The event organiser, Nicky, had been using our sun and wind balm for over a year. When she popped into the store while planning, she asked if we’d like to get involved. We didn’t need to be asked twice.

A few conversations later, and we were officially sponsoring one of the UK’s biggest sea swims for International Women’s Day — raising money for Surfers Against Sewage.

The day itself

On Saturday, around 500 women ran into the sea in Brighton. The day was filled with high energy, cold water, a bit of nerves, and a lot of laughter.

We were there with our Brighton store team and our ambassador, Jas, set up on the beach giving out samples of our new Spindrift shower bars and chatting to everyone taking part before and after their swim.

At WiDEYE, we make products for people who’d rather be outdoors. And days like this are exactly what we mean by that.

A cold water swim is one of those moments where you question it as you’re standing on the beach freezing, but then come out wondering why you don’t do it more often.

Being there on the beach, handing out our new shower bars and chatting to people after their swim, showed exactly the kind of routine they’re designed to be part of.

Thank you

Thank you to everyone who came over to say hello, shared their experience, or grabbed a shower bar to try after their swim. It was so lovely meeting you all.

Thank you to Surfers Against Sewage for campaigning to protect our ocean.

And thank you to Nicky for walking into our store that afternoon last year and starting the whole thing in the first place. We’re very glad you did.

Here is a selection of our favourite images from the day.

If you were there, drop a comment below and tell us your favourite part! And if you’re thinking about next year, it’s a good one.
