Exploring North Cornwall: finding the best beaches for soap photography
Jun 30, 2026
Last week, Sam and I each packed up a bag full of soap and headed to North Cornwall to find the perfect backdrop for some new product images.
The alarm was set for 5:30am so we could catch the early light and avoid the crowds. If you can’t tell, we take soap photography very seriously.
It’s also a pretty good excuse to be outside all day, especially in this lovely weather. We moved between beaches, stopping whenever the light looked right or when we saw a cool rock formation.
The beaches we visited were; Mawgan Porth, Holywell Bay and Perranporth.
Here’s a selection of our favourite images:

We need your help.

Images 5 and 6 are my preferred images in that order
Beautiful beaches here near Lands End! Try between Sennen and Gwenver beach, beautiful. Or the amazing Porthcurno with its turquoise sea. 6 & 8 images are best I reckon. If you need someone to take some images here send me some soaps! I take great photos…
I prefer photographs 5, 6 &7, although 5 is my favourite because the soap looks far more interesting and natural unpackaged. Maybe sometimes stacked, or even if the stack has falling over, or even individual bars, but with no hands showing.
That’s my humble opinion for what it’s worth! 😊
