Soap Bars 2.0 | Why we’re changing things

If you’ve been following along, you’ll know we’re changing our soap bars.

But what you might not know is that we are simplifying the range and changing the packaging to make it clear why you should use our products.

Where it started

Over the past few years, we felt like we’d drifted a bit from what WiDEYE is really about: simple products that support your skin after time in the elements.

So we’ve been working on some bigger changes to bring that back, including updating our packaging across the site 👀

With the new soap bars launching next month, it felt right to start there.

So we called in our designer and got to work.

The moment it clicked

Halfway through the process, we got a DM.

Someone asked us which bar to use because they all looked similar, and it wasn’t clear what each one was for.

That’s when it clicked. We’re not just making products. We’re helping people figure out what their skin needs after time in the elements.

And right now, we’re not making that easy enough 🤔

All our packaging looks pretty similar. The bar’s name sits on the back, but it doesn’t clearly tell you what it does for your skin.

If we’re here to support everyday routines for people who’d rather be outdoors, it should be obvious how each bar fits into that.

Redefining the range

Right now, we have 27 different soap bars. But more options don't always make things easier.

So we’ve simplified the range. Keeping our bestsellers and focusing on what people reach for most. Whilst we’re still aiming to be the best smelling soap on the market, it’s not how we’re defining the range.

After launch, there’ll be 15 bars in total, split into four clear categories to make it easier to choose. Start with what your skin needs, then pick your scent.

So whether your skin feels dry after a sea swim, or needs a deep cleanse after a long day of build up, it’s easier to know where to start.

What’s not changing

The names you recognise aren’t going anywhere 🧼

Same names, same ingredients, same scent — just bigger!

Why this change matters to us

At the end of the day, our products are there to support your skin after time outside. And while scent is just as important, it’s not what makes a difference to your skin.

So for us, it made sense to shift things.

To make it clearer what each bar actually does, and help you choose based on what your skin needs.

Here’s a list of the bars that will be leaving once they’re out of stock.

We’ve suggested alternatives on each product page below, so you can still find a bar that works for you. You’ve got until 27th April to stock up before we switch over to the new bars.

  • It’s really good to provide a clear message to consumers as to what the soap is for eg extra moisturising etc. we all know as once you use them you’re hooked but good for the browsers out there! 😀

  • Really do like the new packaging, clear simple, splitting the scent names into the benefit groups and using colour coordination, will make it a lot easier to find the right bar. Great ideas.
