The Explorer Set: What’s New, and Why?
Oct 01, 2025
The Soap Sample Set became one of our most-loved collections. A bestseller that’s found its way into bathrooms across our community. Ten mini bars, each with their own character, gathered into one box, so you could discover what works best for your skin and your routine.

Before we dive into what's new, we want to pause here: your feedback has shaped this set from the very beginning. We are making these changes on 17th October 2025 and it's come directly from the conversations we have had with you, and we’d love to keep that going. As you’re reading, please let us know what you think in the comments below. Every thought, big or small, helps us make the Explorer Set better for you.
Bet your thinking then why change? But even long-standing favourites need the occasional refresh. Over the past year, we’ve been listening to your feedback, looking at how you use the set, and asking ourselves how it could serve you better. The answer? A new name, a new look, and a new collection that feels more rooted in the outdoor life you love.
Our Explorer Set is more than a gift, it’s a toolkit: a way to explore scents, textures, and adventures until you land on the bar that slots naturally into your routine. Whether that’s rinsing off after a sea swim, warming up after a winter hike, or just enjoying a no-fuss routine that works every time.
From Sample to Explorer
First up, the name. What used to be the “Sample Set” is now officially the Explorer Set. We wanted a name that reflects what this collection is really about: discovering which bars work best for your lifestyle. Life’s not for “sampling”, it’s for exploring.
With a refreshed insert (designed for gifts to feel a little more special) and a selection tailored to everyday recovery, the Explorer Set is ready for its next chapter.
Which is why we would love to hear your thoughts on this, in the comments section below.

The New Line-up
Two old friends, “Avocado Nutrition Soap” and “Rosehip Seed Oils Nutrition Soap”, have stepped aside to make room for bars that bring a little more balance to the collection.
Spindrift Shower Bar brings the lift of coastal air into your shower, a reminder of easy days by the water.
Charcoal & Cedarwood Shower Bar adds a grounding option to the collection, a reset button after a long day outdoors.

Why the Change?
The Explorer Set has always been a toolkit. A few bars for moisture after a swim. Some to exfoliate after a long run. Something gentle for sensitive skin. A couple of detoxifying bars to lift away the day, after time outside. And now, a couple of new options to keep things fresh.
We’ve taken inspiration from your feedback and moved from calling them soaps to shower bars, a small change that better reflects where these bars really shine.

Who it’s For?
If you’d rather be outdoors, low-maintenance, or just want skincare that works without all the synthetics, then this one’s for you. The Shower Bar Explorer Set is a gift you’ll be proud to give (and even happier to keep for yourself).
It’s still one of the easiest ways to get to know WiDEYE. But with its new name, new design, and refreshed mix, it feels more like us than ever before.

Hi team,
Do you have any shower bars that work well in cold water? I only take cold showers nowadays and have found that many bars don’t release their beautiful aromas as effectively as when used in cold water…the oils and butters don’t melt as well in cold water. Any suggestions please.
I’m not sure what to add other than maybe the little devil on my shoulder saying change the words rather be to not afraid of the outdoors? We’d all rather be outdoors but some find daily excuses not to be. I live in Snowdonia and everyday is an outdoor day (if you don’t mind the rain)
I agree with calling the new sampler kit explorer as it may appeal more to the less inclined to go outdoors and get mucky 😂
Finally, it has never occurred to me that your soaps are for washing hands as I have always used mine in the shower where the smells help to wake me and the exfoliating elements help fight the rigors of the outdoors.
Finally, a plea. Please do not drop your bars which have patchouli. If anything increase the strength or quantity. People that like it, love it. I have even been stopped in a store and asked if I was wearing any. The only thing I could think of was your soaps.
Hello! I’ll continue to buy because I think they really are the best soaps I’ve ever used. Only concern would be that those who are new to wide eye might not automatically associate the label ‘shower bar’ with traditional soap so you may lose new devotees. Adding in the word soap may help but realise ‘soap shower bar’ isn’t very elegant. Just a thought.
