For this weeks blog post, our wonderful Alessia has put together a few words on one of our favourite scents for the summer season, Summer Bliss! Read on to get the low down...

“The evocative power of smell”

The smell in the air after heavy rainfall in a hot climate, the fresh smell of spring, the warm cinnamon spice scent of Christmas. It is of no coincidence that such smells may evoke memories, as we know the human body to be wonderful and complex. Our sense of smell is handled by the olfactory system. It transmits messages to the front of the brain ,where the signals are processed, influencing emotions and triggering memories .

At Wideye we do not use synthetic alcohols for our scents, instead we use pure

Therapeutic essential oils. Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts that retain their natural smell, often used in aromatherapy, to support health and well-being. By doing so it enables us to capture some of our beautiful signature blends.

Such as our stunning, Summer Bliss, a floral fusion of Geranium and Jasmine.

The beautiful blend of jasmine and Geranium translates to that of a delicate vintage Rose.

Jasmine oil is derived from the white flowers of the common jasmine plant, also known as Jasminun officinale. Used for centuries, for its sweet, romantic fragrance often used as a natural aphrodisiac, and has a number of health benefits, such as naturally tackling low mood ,is antiseptic, antispasmodic and known to help skins clarity and scaring.

Geranium is Sourced from the flowers and leaves of the Pelargonium graveolens plant. Rose geranium essential oil is also used in aromatherapy to improve a variety of health benefits from Hormone balance, is uplifting and elevates anxiety,Inflammation and Menopause. Used by the Egyptians for promoting beautiful and radiant skin, helping to balance skin oil and moisture production.
